The following awards can be made to individual pupils when tested by teachers on

recall and knowledge of phonics and spelling.

HEAR

For being able to hear (pick out) the chosen sound(s) from a group of spoken sounds.

SAY

For being able to say the chosen sound(s) from print.

WRITE

For being able to write down the chosen sound(s).

BRONZE

For being able to hear, say and write all the phonemes in each of the first six sets (Set 1 - 6).

SILVER

For being able to hear, say and write all the long vowel phonemes in the last six sets (Set 7 - 12).

GOLD

For being able to read a list of unfamiliar words that include all the long vowel phonemes.

PLATINUM

For being able to make appropriate choices when spelling a list of words which include all the

long vowel phonemes.
